Mike Smith heads up our professional Jr Broadcasting Program

Mike Smith, Former NBA player, 3-time Emmy award winning broadcaster

The Apollo Streams' Jr Broadcasting Program is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to empower and educate high school and college-aged students in the art of sports broadcasting. Led by the esteemed Mike Smith, a former NBA player, a 3-time Emmy award winning broadcaster and current commentator for the Utah Jazz, the program holds the promise of providing aspiring young broadcasters with invaluable insights and guidance from many of the industry's most seasoned professionals.

The program's primary focus will be on teaching students how to film and provide insightful commentary for sports games. Participants will have the opportunity to learn various aspects of sports broadcasting, including camera work, on-air presentation, play-by-play, color commentary, and post-game analysis. With Mike Smith's extensive experience both as a player and a commentator, students will gain firsthand knowledge of the intricacies of the game, enriching their broadcasting skills with a unique perspective.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Jr Broadcasting Program is its collaboration with top professional broadcasters from around the country. By involving seasoned professionals, the program ensures that students receive diverse and comprehensive mentorship, exposing them to different styles and approaches in sports broadcasting. These guest broadcasters will not only share their expertise but also offer valuable networking opportunities and potential pathways for future broadcasting careers.

As an internship-style program, Apollo Streams' Jr Broadcasting initiative offers a hands-on and immersive learning experience for youth all over the country. Students will have the opportunity to interact with professionals, gaining practical skills and building their portfolios. This unique opportunity will not only bolster their broadcasting abilities but also equip them with the confidence and professionalism required for a successful career in sports journalism.

There is currently a limited opportunity for high school and college aged students to start honing their broadcasting skills. However, with our platform, our youth can get a head start by beginning to practice and develop their broadcasting skills right away. By starting to call games and engaging with live streaming through Apollo Streams, our youth will gain invaluable experiences and early exposure to the world of broadcasting, giving them a significant advantage as they progress in their journey.

Overall, the Apollo Streams' Jr Broadcasting Program spearheaded by Mike Smith promises to be a transformative experience for young sports enthusiasts aspiring to make their mark in the broadcasting industry. By providing top-notch mentorship, hands-on training, and exposure to industry-leading professionals, this program aims to nurture the next generation of sports broadcasters, fostering a legacy of excellence that will resonate for years to come.
